This painting was commissioned by one of my collectors as a gift for a family member. I was asked to find a good image to work from and was attracted to the feeling of intimacy with the performer while being aware that there were thousands of people also present at this moment ....but who were not visible to us. He, on the other hand is obviously connecting with them in this moment. I think the painting captures that, in his looking out towards them.
